The Optimal Trade Entry zone is the 61.8 to 78.6 percent retracement of an impulse leg. It is where institutional re-entry is most commonly sought, and the highest risk-to-reward pocket of a move. Higher-grade setups require the OTE zone to overlap an order block or fair value gap.

What is a Fair Value Gap on gold?

A Fair Value Gap is a three-candle inefficiency where price moved too quickly for orders to fill, leaving an imbalance. Gold fills these gaps with high frequency. Gaps smaller than 0.35x the 14-period ATR on that same timeframe are discarded as noise.

What is the difference between CHoCH and BOS?

A Change of Character (CHoCH) is the first break of a prior swing against the prevailing trend and is the earliest reversal signal. A Break of Structure (BOS) is a continuation through a swing in the direction of trend. Both should be confirmed on candle closes rather than wicks.
